Gore Running Wear MYTHOS 2.0 WINDSTOPPER® Gloves

For years I have struggled with cold hands, suffering from Raynaud’s I have always constantly had issues.  A few weeks ago I even triple gloved with some very good branded gloves but I still ended up with numb hands.  It wasn’t until I got chatting to Adrian at Edinburgh’s Run & Become store and he suggested trying these Gore Running Gloves that a solution was born.

As soft shell running gloves with a comfy fleece lining they are designed with long wrist cuffs to prevent the wind sneaking in, there is a zip pocket on the left inner cuff which is handy for your keys and have reflective tape on the back of the hands to keep you visible in the dark.  The added feature that I like about them as an avid tweeter is that the palms have a silicone coating so your phone doesn’t slip out of your hand and the fingertips are designed with a special material so you can use your touch screen without taking them off.

I use my gloves for running, but they could be used for cycling or other outdoor activities as they are still quite flexible with good movement available.  Whilst they aren’t advertised as being water resistant, I have had them on through sleet and rain showers for up to 5 hours and my hands still remained warm and dry.

The real test of these gloves recently was at Extreme Energy’s Pilgrims Challenge, where the weather was truly dire and the only part of me that stayed warm was my hands!!! I couldn’t believe it, 5h 41m out in the cold and I had warm hands, this was a world first for me!!

If you get cold hands then give these a go, however if you find your hands warm up very easily then these gloves will be too much for you to cope with.  RRP £40 they are well worth the investment.
