Taming the Monster

It’s been just over a month since I crossed the finish line of the Arizona Monster 300—300 unforgiving miles through the desert—and I’m still trying to comprehend what I’ve just been through. How do you find words for something that shook you to the core, something that felt both impossible and inevitable all at once? This race took me to the edge—mentally, physically, emotionally. I faced crushing heat, relentless sleep deprivation, and terrain that never seemed to end. But somehow, through it all, my mind and body held steady. I anchored myself to the present moment, never allowing my thoughts to drift further than the next aid station. And in doing so, I found a strange kind of peace—a calm, almost meditative state—as I moved forward, step by step, mile by mile.
